Common Vaccination Questions

💉 Which vaccines do adults need?

The vaccines recommended for adults depend on your age, medical conditions, occupation and lifestyle.

Commonly recommended adult vaccines include the annual Influenza vaccine, Pneumococcal vaccine, Shingles vaccine and Tdap booster.

Additional vaccines may be recommended for travel or specific medical conditions.

✈️ Which vaccines do I need before travelling?

Travel vaccination requirements vary depending on your destination, duration of travel and planned activities.
Our doctor can advise on recommended travel vaccines such as Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Tdap and Meningococcal vaccines where appropriate.

💉 Can I receive more than one vaccine during the same visit?

Yes. Many vaccines can be safely administered during the same appointment.
If multiple vaccines are recommended, our doctor will advise the most appropriate schedule based on your medical history and travel plans.

👨‍⚕️ Are vaccinations safe?

Vaccines used in Singapore undergo rigorous evaluation for safety and effectiveness.
Most side effects are mild and temporary, such as soreness at the injection site or a low-grade fever.
Serious reactions are uncommon, and our doctor will review your medical history before vaccination.

📅 How do I know if I need a booster?

Some vaccines provide lifelong protection, while others require booster doses to maintain immunity.
If you’re unsure about your vaccination history, bring along any available records and we’ll review whether booster vaccinations are recommended.

👵 Which vaccines are recommended for adults over 50?

As we age, our immune system becomes less effective at fighting infections.
Adults aged 50 years and above are commonly advised to consider vaccines such as Influenza, Shingles, Pneumococcal and, in selected individuals, RSV vaccination. Recommendations depend on your age and overall health.

Government Subsidies & MediSave

Some adult vaccinations are eligible for government subsidies under Singapore’s national vaccination programmes.
Eligibility depends on several factors, including:

  • Age
  • Vaccination being received
  • Existing medical conditions
  • CHAS card status
  • Whether you belong to the Pioneer Generation or Merdeka Generation

Please note that government vaccination subsidies are available only to Singapore Citizens and are not applicable to Permanent Residents (PRs).

In many cases, a co-payment is still required after government subsidies have been applied. However, eligible patients may also use MediSave to help pay for the remaining balance, subject to prevailing MediSave limits and sufficient available funds.

As subsidy eligibility can be complex, our clinic staff will be happy to advise you on the estimated amount payable before your vaccination.
