Coordinating Complex Medical Care

One of the important roles of a Family Physician is to help coordinate your medical care by bringing together information from different healthcare providers and helping you make sense of your treatment journey.

We can arrange blood tests, imaging investigations and other follow-up assessments between specialist appointments, helping to keep your care coordinated and ensuring that important information is available at your next specialist review.

If you are consulting us regarding a complex medical condition, we encourage you to bring along your referral letters, previous blood test results, imaging reports, hospital discharge summaries and current medication list, if available. This allows us to better understand your medical history and provide more comprehensive care.

About our Doctor

Dr Gideon Hong is a Registered Family Physician dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based healthcare for patients of all ages. With more than 25 years of medical experience, he believes in building long-term relationships with his patients through personalised care, clear communication and continuity of care.

As a Family Physician, he cares for patients with a wide variety of medical conditions, from acute illnesses and chronic disease management to skin conditions and preventive healthcare. He believes that taking the time to understand each patient’s medical history, concerns and individual circumstances leads to better healthcare decisions and better long-term health outcomes.

Qualifications

• MBBS, National University of Singapore (2001)
• Diploma in Practical Dermatology, Cardiff University (2005)
• Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine, National University of Singapore (2007)
• Registered Family Physician, Singapore Medical Council Family Physician Register (since 2011)

Dr Hong has also completed Certificates of Competency in Botox and Dermal Fillers awarded through the Dermatological Society of Singapore (DSS), the National Skin Centre and the Aesthetic Dermatology Educational Group (ADEG). Both programmes were accredited by the Singapore Medical Council’s Aesthetic Practice Oversight Committee.

Professional Experience

Following graduation, Dr Hong gained extensive clinical experience within Singapore’s public healthcare system, working across a broad range of medical and surgical specialties. This provided him with a strong foundation in diagnosing and managing the wide range of medical conditions seen in Family Medicine.

His hospital experience included:

Dr Hong also gained valuable experience in community healthcare at Bedok Polyclinic. Over the years, he has also provided medical services for several established private healthcare organisations, including Raffles Medical, Parkway Shenton and Healthway Medical, as well as a number of smaller private medical practices.

Throughout his career, Dr Hong has remained committed to Family Medicine and Primary Care. His experience across hospital medicine, community healthcare and private practice has reinforced his belief that good healthcare is built on long-term relationships, continuity of care and helping patients make informed decisions about their health.
