Mounjaro® (Tirzepatide) Weight Loss Injections
At GreenLink Medical Clinic, we offer Mounjaro® (Tirzepatide), a once-weekly prescription medication that activates both GIP and GLP-1 receptors to help reduce appetite, improve metabolic health and support significant, sustainable weight loss.

📉 Significant weight loss in clinical studies
🩸 Dual GIP + GLP-1 receptor agonist
💉 Once-weekly injection
👨⚕️ Doctor-supervised treatment
⚖️ Sustainable weight management
Mounjaro® (Tirzepatide) is a prescription medication approved for chronic weight management in suitable adults. Unlike Wegovy, which works only on the GLP-1 receptor, Mounjaro activates both the GIP (Glucose-dependent Insulinotropic Polypeptide) and GLP-1 (Glucagon-like Peptide-1) receptors.
This dual mechanism helps regulate appetite, improve insulin sensitivity and may provide additional metabolic benefits in suitable patients.
How Does Mounjaro Work?

✨ Activates GIP receptor

Why is the dose increased gradually?
Mounjaro is started at a low dose and increased gradually over several months.
This stepwise approach allows your body to adjust to the medication and helps reduce the likelihood of side effects such as nausea, vomiting and stomach discomfort.
Not every patient will require the same maintenance dose. During your follow-up appointments, we will review your progress and adjust the dose based on your response, weight-loss goals and any side effects.
💡 Our goal is to find the lowest effective dose that works well for you while minimising side effects.
Beyond Weight Loss
🔥 Visceral Fat
Visceral fat is often called the “hidden fat” because it surrounds internal organs and cannot be seen from the outside.
Clinical studies have shown reductions in visceral fat, the fat surrounding internal organs that contributes to increased cardiovascular and metabolic risk.
📏 Abdominal Fat
Mounjaro may reduce abdominal subcutaneous fat, contributing to improvements in waist circumference and body composition
🫀 Liver Fat
Reduction in liver fat may be particularly beneficial for patients with Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD), previously known as fatty liver disease.
🩸 Metabolic Health
Many patients also experience improvements in insulin sensitivity, blood sugar and other metabolic markers.
Common Side Effects (Usually Temporary)
Most side effects are related to the gut and are usually mild and temporary — especially during the dose-increase phase. They tend to improve after a few weeks.
• Nausea — most common, especially at the start
• Vomiting
• Diarrhoea or constipation
• Reduced appetite (this is actually part of how the medicine works!)
• Burping or bloating
• Tiredness
Tips to Reduce Side Effects
• Eat smaller, more frequent meals
• Avoid fatty, fried, or very rich foods
• Eat slowly and chew your food well
• Stay well hydrated — sip water throughout the day
• Avoid lying down right after eating
• Do not skip meals — eating nothing can make nausea worse
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Mounjaro suitable for everyone?
No. Mounjaro is a prescription medication and is not suitable for everyone. During your consultation, we will review your medical history, current medications and weight-loss goals to determine whether it is appropriate for you.
How much weight can I expect to lose?
Results vary between individuals. Clinical studies have shown significant weight loss in many patients when Mounjaro is combined with healthy eating, regular physical activity and ongoing medical supervision.
Is Mounjaro an insulin injection?
No. Mounjaro is not insulin. It is a GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist that works by helping regulate appetite and food intake.
Is the injection painful?
Most patients find the injection quick and relatively comfortable. The pen uses a very fine needle and is designed for simple once-weekly self-administration
How long will I need to take Mounjaro?
Weight management is a long-term process. Some patients remain on treatment for longer periods, while others may reduce or stop treatment after achieving their goals. This decision is made individually during follow-up consultations.
What happens if I stop Mounjaro?
Some people regain weight after stopping treatment, particularly if healthy lifestyle habits are not maintained. We will discuss long-term strategies to help you achieve sustainable results.
Important: Mounjaro is a prescription-only medication. Treatment suitability varies between individuals and requires a medical consultation. We will assess your medical history, current medications and weight management goals before recommending treatment.
Thinking About Mounjaro?
Every patient is different.
During your consultation, we will assess your health, discuss your weight-loss goals and determine whether Mounjaro is the right treatment for you.
If appropriate, we will guide you through treatment with regular follow-up and ongoing lifestyle support.
